1000 Miles for Father's Day

Thought about my dad a lot today as I hiked solo for most of my 27 mile day to reach 1000 total miles on the PCT so far.

It was a really special day. Hiked through some great terrain and had a good amount of energy all day until I couldn't hike any further and laid down to nap in a meadow full of Mosquitos. Really full.

Then Hike-a-While caught up. We hiked together to lake Dorothy where we cooked dinner and while hiking out saw a bald eagle skimming fish off the surface of the lake. Really spectacular.

I haven't said much if anything about needing to carry a bear can, but I've had one since mile 702. Today, we left Yosemite National park and I no longer need to be carrying a bear can. My packs going to get lighter soon!
